Quick question, I sent my transcripts in back in June and recently submitted my apps as of yesterday. Anyone know what the current wait time to get verified is sitting at? I know they say it's anywhere between 2-6 weeks, but I was wondering if anyone had any idea of where is at right now. Thanks!

Mine took about 10 days (submitted August). I would guess by now it should take about 2-3 weeks as the AACOMAS starts to peak soon

For secondary, it depends on the schools. Some send them immediately, some send within days, and I am still hearing nothing from some schools (perhaps the screening takes time).

I submitted mid August and was verified within 10-12 days. It was quicker than what I had expected. Received secondaries within a day of being verified. Still have secondaries trickling in.

Do you mind telling me what your stats were? Just wondering if getting secondaries so quickly was due to them being high.

Submitted mine on 8/25 and was verified yesterday night (8/31). Was quite pleased about this. I'm assuming some secondaries will be coming in today.

Sure, my cGPA is 3.5 and sGPA is 3.71. Several hundred hours of volunteer/community work, currently doing research, work as a nurse part time (so many hours of clinical experience). I have 3 LOR, two from science professors and one from a DO. Only 1 science professor has submitted theirs. The other science professor and DO will be submitting their letter mid-September. I actually took the MCAT August 25 so I don't have a score on that yet. I only applied to about half the schools I intend on applying to but am waiting for MCAT score to apply to the rest. (Only submitted primary before MCAT so I would have time to work on secondaries in advance. If my score is horrendous, I will pass on filling out secondaries for these schools.). So I still have some information missing and am receiving secondaries, which is why I would assume they generically send them out to almost everyone that applies.

So what does the secondary entail? Is it similar to the MD process where there is a unique school specific prompt?

Yes, most of what I have seen so far has been "Why this school" "How can you help benefit the school", kind of general questions but geared towards that school. For instance, I would say you could pretty much pre write most secondaries to have a base answer. With each school you submit too, you could probably edit small details to answer their question as it pertains to their school. Some schools have completely different questions. It just depends. Also, be prepared to answer why osteopathic medicine and what exposure you have had. That seems to be a pretty standard question with each school.
