AACOMAS Fee Waiver?

I qualified for the AAMC fee assistance program based on earning fairly little in my current job. I'm over 26 and independent so I didn't need to provide parental income for that application.

The AACOMAS fee waiver seems harder to receive.
For AACOMAS, it seems parental income is required even if you're independent. The only exceptions are if parents are deceased or incarcerated or if you're legally emancipated. This seems rather strict. Wondering what experiences other have had.
