So I typed in my predicted grades (A hopefully) for 5 courses I am planning to repeat in fall. Then I deleted those courses and typed in 5 fresh new courses. Not seeing any major change in my science gpa or cumulative gpa.I thought there's repeating a course for higher grades, helps boost your gpa higher instead of taking brand new courses..

Replacing courses will always give you a higher gpa then simply doing more courses. Think about the math...

You have to actually replace the poor courses, so the amount of credits stays static, but the GPA of them increases, therefore your overall gpa increases.

What's probably happening is, if you're doing it on the app itself, it's not actually doing the calculation and replacing them? The simplest thing to do is just input it all into an excel spreadsheet.

You need to indicate on your original classes that they are repeated and on your fall classes you need to match the corresponding class as a last repeat. Ex. originally u took class A, u need to select R01. Then on your 2nd try for class A, you select L01. This way they will only count your most recent attempt on that particular class. Do the same thing for all 5 of your classes (R01, R02, R03... --> L01, L02, L03... etc.)

exactly . I think you were adding the credits instead of replacing them. The entire class gets replaced is if it never happened. You should see major increase if you replace 5 classes

Thanks everyone! I changed a few things, and its working! GPA increased science gpa increased from 3.3 to 3.5. One question though, the cgpa is still around 3.23. Do D.O schools give more importance to cgpa over sgpa?

It's best to have both GPAs higher obviously, but sGPA will carry a little more weight since you will be taking science courses when you are in medical school.
