Once they receive my transcripts, how do they calculate my GPA? I'm curious, because my school uses the +/- scale, but I think it's a little weird I mean, an A- is a 3.67 and a B+ is a 3.33. Does anyone else's school use this system? I always thought an A was an A and a B+ was worth 3.5. I think it would be pretty sweet if AACOMAS made my GPA go up!

It has been awhile since you posted this but I will go ahead and answer your question anyway. If you go to the section where you enter your coursework at AACOMAS there will be a button at the top that says instructions. There you will find the following:

AACOMAS Grade: The AACOMAS grading system standardizes the way grades will be reported to your designated colleges. AACOMAS grades include: A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D+, D, D- and F. The AACOMAS Grade is assigned a numeric value to calculate your grade point average. These values are:

A 4.0
A- 3.7
B+ 3.3
B 3.0
B- 2.7
C+ 2.3
C 2.0
C- 1.7
D+ 1.3
D 1.0
D- 0.7
F 0.0

Actual Grade: Record the grade as it actually appears on your official transcript. This can be a numeric grade or a letter grade, with or without a plus or minus sign.

I hope this helps. 🙂

Subject: Biology
Grade: A (as it appears on my transcript, my school doesn't do +/-)
AACOMAS Grade: *what do i put here??*

You would enter "A". Whatever grade they have listed on your transcript is what you use. Since your school doesn't use +/- you don't have to worry about that. (That sucks though! What school do you attend?)
