Hi, I signed up for a class with lab to replace general biology I took in college. This class is worth 4 credit hours, but the gen bio I took in college is 3 hours + 1 hour lab. Will AACOMAS accept this as a replacement?

Why not call AACOMAS? You'll get an answer directly from a rep of theirs.

Yes you should try calling them to confirm. But from what I am reading from the forums, your 4 credit class will be able to replace your 3 credit lecture, leaving the 1 credit lab still counted for credit.

I'm wondering the same thing. Did you ever get a response?

They said you can replace the the 3 credit hour class with 4 credit hour class, but not the other way around.

And then the 1 credit lab stays as is?

I was told (and did) that you should replace the 3 hr class and 1 hr lab with a 4 hr combined or v/v. They told me that I had to replace the lab as well, but then I know others who have kept the first lab, so it likely depends on who happens to be verifying your transcript.

I was also told that if you took a 4hr class w/o lab for say organic that they would take that in place of a 3hr organic class.

Get everything in early so you have time to make corrections and then it doesn't matter.

My lab grades were quite good first time around so hopefully 4 credits can just swap in for the original 3 credit and leave lab alone. Thanks for input.
