I was wondering if anyone had problems entering their personal statement in the application. I wrote my personal statement on word, making sure that it was under 3000 characters. When I cut and paste my statement in the box, and hit enter, I am told to keep P.S. under 3000 characters, and I am unable to save and return to main menu. I also had this problem when entering in my work experience. I know I am under the character limit because all my work was done in Word, which tell me the character count (with spaces) any help is greatly appreciated, as I am close losing it. thanks

Okay I don't know much but I did read somewhere that you should do the essay in notepad or something. Maybe do it in word first so you can spell check, then copy/paste to notepad. I know a friend who wrote the essay (this is last year) and although he was under the max charac., his essay got cut off AFTER he had already sent it! UGHH! so he recommended being a safe amount under the max.

I think you were trying to reply to me...but all I got was my quote.

sorry...I got your reply...thanks. I think I will call tomm. since my P.S. is done, and they are the ones who told me to use word, and then paste...but now, that does not work. 😛

When I was filling out my AACOMAS last year, we were given 2,000 characters for the personal statment.

It kept cutting off the end of my essay until it was 1,998 characters and then it finally accepted it.

Keep toying with the length of your essay.

If all else fails, call AACOMAS. (good luck)

shoot. right after i replied, i realized i was in the D.O. section of this website. i'm new to this (obviously) and just wanted to help...so what i said earlier applied to the amcas app. for allopathic schools. my bad. but good luck anyway.
