I don't think it's a huge issue... the AACOMAS people may fix it for you if you put the "wrong" category. But I'd put climatology under physical science (even though it's not really... but it's the best fit), and physical geography under physical science as well (assuming it incorporates science compared to a regular geography class).
Thanks for your replies.
I do know that AACOMAS specifically lists physical geography as a science class, under "Other Science."
I agree; climatology fits pretty well in Physical Science. If not, it's really close to meteorology (identified as science in Other Science) so either way it will count.
Hmm...the more I think about, the more I realize GIS is more cultural/human geography and less physical geography.
If you have the course description of your GIS class it would help.
For one of them:
"Introduction to cartographic history, theory and principles, thematic map design, symbolization, map perception, color theory, typography, and digital cartographic research. Laboratory work will familiarize students with the latest cartographic software that will be used to produce a series of thematic maps."
For the other:
"Examination of the major theories, concepts, and operations in geographic information systems (GIS). Topics include: the structure of geographic data models, geographic data acquisition, spatial database management, data processing methods. Vector and raster GIS operations, and general approaches to GIS-based spatial modeling."
Just going through this process is making me lean toward NON-physical geography as well as NON-physical science, thus NON-science in general Thanks!
