AACOMAS Verification Thread

Quick question:
When I click on "Designations," mine has the date 7/26 under mailing date and "processed" under mailing status. However, on the main entry page it doesn't have a date under status "Designations." It also states in the instructions that it should state "new" under status.

Is that how yours looks too? I'm worried that they still haven't been mailed yet, and when I wrote them about it they didn't really answer the question, only said that they have been "processed."

I appreciate anyone's help with this! I'm starting to get worried...

Update: Just got secondary invites from CCOM and DMUCOM today, so I think that the "processed" under mailed means that it was actually mailed. (The status still hasn't changed from that.) So, expect your secondaries to start rolling in anytime!

I'm not sure. Did you give your Registrar the AACOMAS transcript form? It took AACOMAS a week for them to receive my transcripts and AMCAS about Four weeks.

i didnt use any forms, just the address. but i sent a total of 3 transcripts, on the same day, 2 have been recieved and i didnt use a transcript form for those. so im just really worried about it.

Some Basic Questions:

How do you know when AACOMAS initially receives your transcript? After that, how do you know when a transcript has been verified?

I'm going to go to my school's registrar office tomorrow to ask them to mail the transcript to AACOMAS with next day air, so they should probably get it by Friday or if it gets held up at the registrar's office, they should get it by Mon/Tuesday of next week at the latest. Do I have to wait till my transcript is verified, before I can complete my AACOMAS application and submit it?

Also, I'm taking my MCAT on August 20th. Do I have to wait till my scores comes in to submit the AACOMAS application?

Oh, and what is this about getting the application by mail that I keep reading about? I thought you submitted the AACOMAS through the web only?

When they receive your transcript it will be listed under transcripts on the right hand side of the page with the date they received it. I'm not sure what you mean by verified. Submit as soon as you're ready that way your application can be sent to the schools. The schools will generally hold your app until they have the MCAT scores but you won't be delayed past that. Oh and you can submit before they receive your transcripts.

Did your schools send you confirmation? I would check with them first to see if they actually did send them.

I dunno; I imagine if they're not marked down on the website it would be fruitless to call them and ask because they're just going to tell me to keep checking the website.

I'll give it one more week and then start inquiring I guess...I also requested a copy of each to be sent to me and received them already so the schools must have sent them out. This whole waiting game is just making me anxious because people are already complete at schools and I can't do anything about moving on!

I dunno; I imagine if they're not marked down on the website it would be fruitless to call them and ask because they're just going to tell me to keep checking the website.

AACOMAS had received my transcripts for a while, and for some reason weren't verifying grades. I found out it was because the transcripts from community colleges were sent under the district's name (some districts have several community colleges that are listed together under one name). I gave them a call to clarify, then they started the verification. Just something to watch out for.

I submitted on 8/4 and sent the money order on 8/6 which still has not been received. I e-mailed them about this once and they had only processed mail through 8/8. Surely by now they should be able to get to processing mail after that date. If I realized my application would be held up for two weeks by not sending the money order in sooner I would have sent it back in June!

What do you guys mean when you say "mailed" xx/xx/2007? What is being mailed, and why does it matter? I thought after you submitted your application, and they verified it, it goes straight to the schools without us having to do anything? Is the thing they're mailing just a copy for our records, or are we suppose to do anything more with it?

We do not have to do anything. "Mailed" means they send it to the schools not you. Im not sure if the schools can look online at it or if they just wait for a hard copy. AACOMAS does not even email you when they mail your documents.

ringtail, once your gpa has been calculated, click on "designations" it should say "processed" and have mailing dates for each school and that does mean you've been verified. Are you sure it doesn't say this? I was only just verified on 08/26 and within 2 days already LECOM notified me by email they have received it and asked for the supplemental. Check the email account you gave out on your primary, if this isn't happening for you contact AACOMAS asking why the holdup because maybe there's something wrong or incomplete with your application.
