AACOMAS Verification

Just a quick question. I am applying DO this cycle, but am taking summer classes (not pre-reqs, just random post bacc classes). First question- will AACOMAS verify my transcripts before I pay them? Also, if I do send out my apps in June, what happens to my new grades for the summer courses that end August- how do the med schools see them and will they change my AACOMAS GPA?

No, I believe you have to pay before your app gets verified. They will take your transcript and verify that they have received it before you pay though.

You would have to resubmit your transcript to either AACOMAS or directly to the schools.

so is it better to wait till august when my summer grades (and MCAT score) become available to submit, or should I submit now, and then update schools with my MCAT score and summer class grades as they become available?

No, you can submit now and then send an update (just resend your transcripts to AACOMAS and they will send out a new PDF to the schools).

Yea definitely submit before summer grades. You might consider waiting for spring grades to update to your transcript then submit though.

My spring grades are already posted to my transcript, but my degree has not been OFFICIALLY conferred to me on my transcript yet, even though I've already graduated (lazy NJIT staffers ). Do you think I should hold off on the transcript request until my transcript says BACHELORS AWARDED, or does that not matter? Its gonna be another couple of weeks from what I understand.

As long as your grades are on there I would request it be sent now. The fact that you have a BA doesn't matter since traditional students apply before their senior year.
