AADSAS Application Questions....

To anyone that has applied in the past and might know the answers to some or all of these questions......

I have been reading a lot of posts here and I am a bit confused about a few things with AADSAS.

1) Do I send my DAT scores to AADSAS? To AADSAS and the schools I apply to? Or, just to the schools I apply to?

2) I have read that AADSAS takes a while to process your application... is this once you have sent in your transcripts and completely filled out the application? Or will they start working on it once they receive your transcript?

3) One your application is complete with AADSAS, can you then wait to send your application to dental schools? Or does it get sent right away?

4) Can I send my transcripts to AADSAS so they have that while I am still filling out my application? In other words, will AADSAS start a file for me and hold my transcripts until I have completely filled out the application and sent it in to them via the web?

I think they only begin processing once they recieve your transcripts and put together the whole package. I remember how one guy in this forum was saying how he forgot to include his transcripts so his app wasn't processed until the fall even though he applied in the summer. I forget whether that cost him an acceptance. So I say just send in your transcripts right now. And if AAdsas throws them away, send them again.

Seems like your a perfectionist like me. Don't get paranoied and worried over the small things, don't second guess yourself.

try reading directions on AADSAS. No seriously, actually try to find out some information for yourself... it's easy, fun, low-in-fat, and free!

You send DAT scores to the schools you apply to. When you register to take your DATs they give you the opportunity to choose the schools you want the scores sent to. If you've already taken it, go to the DAT website, there's an online form you fill out, and fork some cash over for, to send scores off to schools you select.

Once you have clicked on "submit final application". How do you know when it's final? Well I found out when AADSAS had me put in my credit card info and then deducted a BMW Motorcycle from my account.

?? Wow, this question, on top of being redundant, doesn't make sense! But if you're referring to secondaries, you can either wait until the school send you secondaries and then fill them out, or you can go ahead and get them from the school's website or call the school and request them. This will result in the loss of $50-$75 bucks a pop.

Damn... don't know this one. Suggest you look it up.

How come the website still has not posted the date for the opening of the 2006 application? We all know it'll be coming out this week, but specifically the 16th, 17th, 18th?

People who ask questions like the ones you posted make my head hurt. Except #4- that's a good question.
