AADSAS does it again...vent

My file has been complete after AADSAS sent my letters of recommendation...today after getting a lil anxious, I just call to make sure that the schools have all my documents...guess what Columbia says, we did not receive your letters of recommendation! AADSAS always manages to mess things up 🙄 , my file could have been complete a month ago...damn!

Ok, I have been resisting venting about the AADSAS but now I got to say something after having read the 1000 post on them screwing up. 😡

They have the worst customer service for people who are paying good money for them to at least be courteous! I paid like 842 for 13 schools (not including transcripts and DAT to all schools.). I have similar situation with my LOR to some of the schools and when I called about it I got the run around about how I needed to wait longer for this things to show up!!!!

I was like "Um.. I sent them to you 2 months ago, and you said you received them 2 months ago, and the school says THEY don't have them. RESEND THEM!". I won't bore you with the rest of the conversation but I think you at least deserve some respect when it isn't their career path at stake.

Careful with Columbia.. I called them too just to check if they had everything, they told me my LORs were missing.. I was freaking as you can imagine.. Anyways.. Long story short it was a Columbia error. I received a call back the next day saying they found my LORs. Just recheck with them.

in that case, VENT to Columbia and AADSAS...now I can kiss my early application goodbye because my file with the other schools have been complete 1 month ago...oh well with my borderline grades I guess I wont have a chance at Columbia then...

I think that early application is considered May/June not September/October. I think that you are faced with lots of tension because right now they are VERY busy with all the applications pouring in at the same time. I sent my application and documents May/July and did not have any trouble. Sorry but the early bird still gets the worm. 😳

well one month during the application cycle is a big benefit to anyone...and my file with the other schools have been complete exactly a month ago...and I have already gotten an early interview...so I would think that I'd have a decent chance at Columbia, but now I'm not too sure...

Yup, this very well might be a Columbia error... they lost mine too eventhough my adviser had sent those out to them. their phone lady last year was very rude too.. unless there is a new person this year.

C'mon people. Give AADSAS a break ! You should blame yourself for your mess.

Here are the steps to make their job easier and process your application faster:

1. Fill the application online
2. Collect all of your sealed LORs, transcripts, documents, pictures and application fee ....
3. Write your name, SS number, AADSAS number on each piece of letters and document
4. Send them in all in 1 package (Overnite if possible)
5. Call them a week later to confirm

This kind of action would actively help them to help you in a efficient way.

They did an excellent job in processing my application last year. I turned mine in around second week of July and all the schools got my stuffs about 3.5 weeks later.

Getting the documents to AADSAS was not the problem, it was sending the documents from AADSAS to Columbia...it is weird that ALL the 10 schools except Columbia received my letters of Rec. and I followed up every step of the way...maybe it is a Columbia issue since others have said the same...but I did my best to keep up to date and follow each step of the process. There is only so much one can do when you are just sitting and waiting and the people preparing the material is a big agency with thousands of mail...they are going to be lost no matter how many times you call them...

Okay, so I'm an idiot. I got a letter and a call from a school because "the # of units and course sequence is wrong" on my AADSAS application. I can fix the course sequence (I just grouped my 4 years together rather than breaking them down by quarter) but what's the deal with # of units? I went to an undergrad and we were on the quarter system and every class was worth 1 credit, so I graduated with 35 credits, but AADSAS said I have 24.5 credits.. 😕 The admissions coordinator from this school said I should convert this to semester hours. 😕 and multiple by ????. So, in summary, does anyone know what the heck I'm talking about because I don't!

Also, once I make these changes and send them to AADSAS, does anyone know how long it takes for them to send the corrections to my schools?
