Just estimating

12000 apps for (guesstimate) roughly 5000 spots. Alot of the apps probably adsas ID#8000+ applied a little late and do not stand a decent chance to be accepted. Minus?1000 or so poor applications,

=7000 serious apps for 5000 seats.

Sure I would race you 🙂. What mods do you got? Have you dynoed your car? I raced my friends Audi TT, but it was the stock 220 something power one. The outcome was not pretty 😉. I am sure though with the proper mods that the TT can be a beast. This summer I am actually going to drop a new turbo in my car, the FP Green. With that I should be safely around 350 whp on pump, and about 400 whp on C16 racing gas. Not bad considering a viper has about 400 at the wheels, heh.

No offense (b/c not the same car i am talking about) but i find it extremely funny when people try to juice up a Dodge neon and other similar cars, the mods are worth more than the piece of crap car.. Save your mony and buy a Lambourghini or McLaren or something that isnt so crappy.

Now, i'm NOT a huge lambourghini fan. I think they are overpriced and you just end up paying for the name. Just like Nike shoes. We had one at our shop that we got that was about ~75% burned (it was in an arson).. And there really isnt some magic secret under the hood....but i'll still take one 😀

Nice to see another fellow Suby owner. You on NASIOC by any chance? With 240whp and 13.1 quarter mile, I'm assuming you're at stage II but a very healthy one indeed (You gotta beat the hell out of a stock STi just to get anything close to that quarter time). Fp Green is the way to go but I'm sure as you already know, don't forget the injectors, fuel pump, and FMIC upgrades. I plan on going the FP Green route myself but I'm gonna wait until my warranty is up 😀
As for you Neon basher's, the SRT-4 is no joke. With one simple free mod the "Neon" will walk a stock WRX like it was stopped and give an STi a run for it's money (SRT-4=$18,000 STi=$32000). If all out speed is what you're into for a reasonable price, then it's not a bad way to go.

Ahh yes 🙂 hi there. A stage II I am indeed, pieced together though not straight from turboxs or anything. I know about the SRT4's from first hand experience. My roomate has a black one, and even in stock form I could only pull about 3 car lengths on him from a 50-120 roll. I was very amazed. He is soon going to get a boost controller, its bye bye scooby then 😉. Ya, im getting the whole fuel suport mods and the front mount of course. We will see what I put down, I hope its around 350 on pump. I just hope my tranny lasts, I won't be launching too much after the green pops in 😉. BTW, do you know anyone who is looking for a basically brand new VF-39? I have one with 8k miles on it. Let me know.

350 is definitely doable but yes I would definitely be worried about the glass tranny 🙁 Do I smell a 6sp swap? As for the VF-39, try here. I successfully sell all my Suby stuff here.

Back on topic-
I'm going to speculate and say that the Wall Street Journal Article comparing Dentistry to Medicine which came out a few weeks back has something to do with the increase in numbers, althought I don't believe everything in that article. After that article came out, I'm sure a number of father's had talks with their sons/daughters trying to persuade them out of whatever they wanted to do and give Dentistry "a shot"

depends on which lancer and which subaru you're talking about. 0-60 times should be wrx > evo > sti because of the hp breakdown. Most people agree that the evo is a better handling car out of the box, but who really needs to drive that hard on the street? I think a lot of it just comes down to personal preference, and at least three of us SDNers chose subies. 👍

i think that makes more sense, because in october was in the ~7000 range, i don't think ~5000 would wait to apply after that.

Well I have a Mazda6s - I accidentally backed into a parked car, so it looks like some tough-guy punched in the corner of my bumber and busted out the light. . . .gives it that "broken in" feel, and of course makes it a bit faster - it weighs less since part of the light fell out. Just from riding around in my roommate's 1991 honda accord (with the sweet 4-banger), I'm pretty sure I could take him. I also estimate I could run the quarter mile in about 24 or 25 seconds, depending on the speed limit. I might get closer to 20 seconds if I was feeling brave and didn't see any cops around - but probably not on a city street. More like a country road.

Sorry, I had to put in a stupid post - I actually do like cars, though. I'm with the guy who wants a Porsche 911 turbo - now that's a sweet ride. If I were to get a BMW M3 for free, I'd take that, too. Too bad I spent all my money on this application that I can barely pay off the car I've got - and I'm way too poor to fix the bumper, but like I said, it makes it faster, anyway 😀

that sounds about right. i was reading a web page that had statistics on med and dental schools. They said about 7 in 10 get into dental school and 5 in 10 get into med school. your guess puts it at 71% wich is right on the money from what I have read

I had a 72 Nova. It looked a little different though. I would love to have a WRX, I would bet it would be a great car to have up in Buffalo for the snow. After saying that I will take my LX450 instead, it may be a total pig as far as speed goes but it is built like a tank and my family is nice and safe in it. Lung, I look forward to meeting you in Buffalo next fall, maybe you will give me a ride in your WRX. I am still waiting to hear from Arizona but I am not holding my breath after that interview.

I called AADSAS TODAY, (Jan/31/05) and asked for the number of applicants and I was told "about 8,900's". This is very different than the mentioned count. With many of the deadlines having passed, i think by the end of the cycle to have had about 9,400 applicants. If so, the number would be up by roughly 1,500 since the last cycle.

I just realized the number the number 124nn is the Web ID. My AADSAS number is 88nn. Didnt know they are different. 😕

Why are you cancelling your case interview, was it for the alternate list?? I have one coming up in march also and my wife is a little more excited about cleveland than buffalo even though it would be an extra 100K in tuition. Congrats on all the interviews. Good luck.
