for those who just received conformation from AADSAS, can you tell me what application number you have right now, and when did u summitted it?

Number 3000. Submitted July 27th

This time last year.... September 2003, the # was in the mid-4000. I would expect the same time this year to hit in the 5000.

Last year I applied on Aug 8 and I was just slightly over 3000.

applied July 13th, number in the 2700's 🙁

I hope this thread keeps on going strong. I'm curious of the amount of applicants there will be during this cycle.
Just for kicks - I applied June 2nd, AADSAS #401.

i don't know if eveyone knows this already but i heard a rumor a while back on sdn that some schools read these boards, so posting one's exact number might not be a good idea. just a heads up to anyone that minds if adcoms read their posts. might just want to say "low 200's" or something like.

i don't think its a big deal personally, i bet the adcom has better things to do than to look up someones posts by using their aadsas number. also whats the odds that they going to find a number on here matching an applicant that they remember. i think they read these posts to see what type of commenst people are saying about their school. but you're right, if you really want to protect your identity, using low 200's or ~290 would be better

i totally agree...

i submitted my app in early august, and i jus found out that my # is in upper 3400s. i cant believe that so many people applied before me, but the lady on the phone told me that there should be around 8000 people applying this year.

how long did it take to process your application amir??

i will be applying tommorrow night... i hope it won't take more than a month to process .. i have sent my tracript already if that helps any

i've heard once it reaches around 3000, it usually takes more than a month. about 4-6 weeks for them to process each application.

I remember the posts about that. I would imagine that there are a few adcom people that are in the habit of patrolling these forums - after all, wouldn't you be curious to know what others are saying about your school as well as current topics/threads of thought that are out there? I believe that if you are not a total jerk and bring a positive element to the forum you have nothing to worry about.

i am not that worried about it myself, just thought i'd pass along the word to make sure everyone was aware of the possibility.... not trying to be annoying... just trying to help 🙂

i got my application in around the first week of august and aadsas told me that they will be mailing it out this coming monday....so i would say it took them around 5 weeks

I did not get my packet I just called AADSAS customer service like you suggested to get my number.

I sent mine out on Jul 29th, AADSAS # in the 3100's.

I submitted my application on August 4th and my number is 3,40X.

Submitted on May 19 AADSAS # in the 90's

how do you guys submit it so early? i thought the first day was june 1st? 😕

(June 1st )That's the first day AADSAS can send out your application. But you can start gathering all your info at aadsas beggining in May.

Submitted Aug 14, AADSAS #38xx.

If I submitted Aug 18 and the message on AADSAS still says, "Applications will be processed in order of receipt" does that mean I have been already assigned a number? And can I call AADSAS for that number...Or do I get assigned a number once my application has been processed?
Sorry, I'm ignorant about this aspect of the application process.

Has anyone sent their application out during September, and if so, where are the numbers now?

I submitted sept. 4 and i have the same questions as drat. do they assign a number right after you submit it or do they wait until it is processed?

I sent mine at the beginning of sept... after calling them they tell me they are currently on 3,500 something... i don't think they assign you a number until your file is completely processed... so I doubt we are assigned a number yet....

I believe that they assign a number as soon as you hit the 'submit' button. I know that when I called way back when AADSAS had yet to receive all of my transcripts and LOR's and yet they had already assigned me a number and the operator was more than willing to tell me it.

Call them and they will tell it to you. They can also fill you in on what is missing from your file, etc. If you are having a hard time getting through on the 800#, then you might want to try their local number (long distance charges apply) - I hardly ever had to wait if I used that number. Of course I have lost it now, but I have seen it posted on some other threads here on SDN so if you are interested run a couple of searches and see what you can find. If you do call that number just ask to speak to a customer service representative and they patch you right through.

I called the 202-number (didn't even try the 1-800 number) and was on hold approximately 20 min. The man was very helpful and gave me the following information:

I applied Aug, and my number is in the 4000s.
They received a plethora of applications in August so the processing time shot up from 4 weeks to 6 weeks.
My application has not been assigned a mailing date, but he expects a date to be assigned within the next few days.

Hope that people out and gives them a reference on where their application stands. Thanks!

I think 6/1 is the first day they go out to the schools, however, I hit the send button on May 19th.

So does anyone know if 4100 is the normal number of applicants during this time of the process?

Last year I applied in late september and my AADSAS number was around 5200. It looks to be right on par with last year.

why would it take about 5 weeks? 😱

Because AADSAS normally takes around four weeks to send out applications, and that is when the have just a few sitting on their desk. When they start receiving a couple of thousand ones on top of that it tends to slow things down - way down. That is why everyone says to apply asap.

don't worry..

i was still studying for my dat around this time last yr... haha... sent in the app the day after thanksgiving...

it's more important that your app is done to the best of your ability (namely your personal st.) rather than rushing it in...

my two cents..

Submitted on July 29. AADSAS #3073. I thought I was horribly late, but I feel a lot better after reading this thread. *phew*

hehe.. its kinda interesting that I submitted my app a day later than you (July 30th) but got a lower number than you did...

well you guys make me sad.. mine got sumbitted on sept 13...

the wait is killing me..

gives me time to get my recs in order..

For those of you who have applied early, did AADSAS mail your pink confirmation sheet at the same time they mailed your application to the dental schools; or did the pink sheet come weeks after they mailed the application to the dental schools?

They mailed my copy the same time they mailed out my file to all of the schools.

I totally agree with you, AADSAS sucks. This service is definitely not worth the money that we pay them. I think that they should be boycotted. I called customer service last Friday, and a rep said that my application should be sent out on this Tuesday. I called today for confirmation of mailing and another rep said that they only mail out applications on Fridays. For heaven sakes, I submitted my application 7 weeks ago.

I called this morning to get my number, 35XX. I also applied seven weeks ago. I was told my application was sent yesterday. Somehow, I just don't buy it 😡
