Okay. Did any of you know this? It seems like AADSAS does not always send out your transcripts and LOR's at the same thime as they send out your AADSAS application to dental schools!! What up with that??

I just called one of my dental schools and they said they received everything EXCEPT for my transcripts. I then called AADSAS and they gave me this explanation. Why do they wait to send out the other materials? And it seems like there's no set pattern as to when they DO send all app mterials at the same time vs. sending it out in seperate batches.

ugh...THis just means more callin to the dental schools, more risks of mail getting mixed up, more hassle.

Maybe you ought to send the transcripts directly to the schools. My undergrad does not charge for transcripts, so I am just going to give them a list sometime next week and have them send it out directly to the varius dental schools. The horror stories about AADSAS I read on this forum is enough to convince me not to route anything apart from my application (which i have to) through them.
Don't worry...it's so early in the game that I am sure things will work out the best for you.

All of my stuff *was* sent at the same time -- I confirmed this with the schools themselves. I had no problem with them copying/mailing any of my stuff, other than the fact that the batch didn't get sent out until 60 days after I submitted. Once it was sent out, I felt it worked perfectly.

Despite this, I'm convinced that there is no method to the madness at AADSAS.

    RSXer,

so did AADSAS finally mail out your transcripts and LOR? If so, how long after they mailed out your application. I'm curious b/c AADSAS did the same thing w/ my application.

Does AADSAS send out transcripts (that they recived to verify GPA) by default with the application? I am wondering coz I never sent in my recommendations to them since i will be sending them out straight to schools. I was going to ask my undergrad registrar to directly send my transcripts to the dental schools. Maybe I should do that in any case given the large scale incompetence?
And yeah one of the justifications for the application fee hike was to cover infosource. When is that gonna be online? Any rumors?

Yead, AADSAS finally sent out my transcripts in the mailing that went out 2 Fridays ago (not sure which batch that is). Which is kinda crazy since I my AADSAS app was sent in the FIRST batch!

My LORs were sent directly by my undergrad institution. I was given a heads up by my pre-health advisor not to use AADSAS for sending LORs. I should've guessed it would've been the same problem with transcripts. OH well. There's nothing I ca ndo about it now. THe aps are in and are complete (hopefully), so now its just time to sit back and wait.

My application went out in the second batch. Some of the schools I applied to still havn't received my LOR. Its very frustrating that they don't send everything together.

omg are you serious zippy. I was in the 4th batch and so it looks like they'll never send mine. This is so bull. I'm so pissed off at AADSAS. They're so incompetent. I'm just gonna pay extra and have my school send my LORs. That way it'll be sent in a couple days.

godd news: some schools have received my application
bad news: they didn't receive all my transcripts. I should have sent them by myself.

Is it good idea to call aadsas and have them send the missing ones?

    Ali,

when did they send your application? What they told me is that they will be mailing out our Letters and transcripts in the subsequent mailing. For example, they sent out my app in 4th batch which was a little over 2 weeks ago and told me that they should have sent out my transcripts and LOR with the 5th or 6th batch (which were sent out last Tues and Wed, respectively). But I don't quite believe them. So i'll probably call all the schools again tomorrow to see if they received them and if not then I'm gonna call AADSAS again and hassle them. The AADSAS people are pissing me off.

    Hi Juan
tell me about it. They suck
    My was in 5 batch
The weird thing is that they received 1 transcript when I sent aadsas 3( including community colleges). I hope they didn't make any incorrectable mistake.

I cant trust them either. I emailed the school already. After I heard their response, I ll decide what to do. I might just send them another copy

good luck, im sure we are not the only victim. we can only hope the best expect the worst

My application went out in the first batch and only 1 of my 3 LORs has been sent to the dental schools. I feel your pain!

Dunno, I had no problems with them (other than they were extremely slow), and all the schools received all of my materials at the same time.

Certainly all of those who applied later were aware that AADSAS would have perhaps 5000 applications coming in during that period. The average student applies to 11 schools, so that means AADSAS must mail information to 55,000 schools currently. Of course, they aren't just photocoping/printing one page for each of those mailings. They are copying (on average) one transcripts, four letters of recommendation, one bio sheet, one personal essay, etc. That equates to roughly 385,000 items that must be mailed at this point in the application cycle. That number is certainly on the low end of the spectrum.

Can anybody here mail 385,000 items in a more timely manner? I'd love to see them step up and try it.

Here's a word of warning to those applying next year: Apply early! This means the first 1-2 weeks that you can! Don't wait for several months to apply, the situation with AADSAS only gets worse! If you apply later than the first couple of weeks, your application is truly out of your hands.

Well it is not getting any better for me. Two schools has 2 of my letters and is missing one. a couple of the other schools has no LOR. But there is one school that has all of them. It is so frustrating because my application was in on June 13th, now it is Sept. and my application is still not complete, and there is nothing I can do about it.

Just called aadsas and talked to two people. Received tow answers .
    1. I have no idea what is going on and how "they " send out the transcript. I don't know how they split transcript up.

    2. we did split up everyting. we mailed out eveything for 1-5 batch on sept 5. Give the school a week.

From what I see, I think request schools to send another transcipt is way to go.

    Dude,

I just called all of the schools I applied to, and not one of them have recieved my LORs!! I tried calling AADSAS, but no answer...maybe they're taking 9/11 off....go figure. Tough year to be a Palestinian Arab. Sad stuff on the news today.

Some good news, one school has my official DAT scores, so the rest of them should get the scores by the end of the week! I cannot wait to get just one interview!

It sounds as though requesting another might be the way to go, given the circumstances. I feel for all of you who can't seem go get all of the items to the schools. I know how frustrating it is to be one step away from having a complete application. Hang in there!

So close, yet so far away. EVERYTHING except LORs are in most of the admissions offices I am applying to. An 'incomplete' application is of NO USE to me!

I should just assign the AADSAS # to my quick dial, but I am coming to realize their CSRs are unable to help. I know, I worked for three months a couple of summers ago at an internet provider company answering phone calls. I never knew jack s**t about what was going on with the server, but I was dealing with the customers directly anyway, telling them anything to make them happy or just saying. "I'm sorry, but I don't know." I get the feeling they have a system like this going down at AADSAS....

They have a monopoly on this service, and they are doing a bad job. The infrastructure of their organization really needs to change so that this whole process moves along more smoothly. I think it is ridiculous that I have had my LORs and transcripts in thier office since JUNE 1st, and they could not send them out with my application.

I feel your pain portlander. All of my schools did receive my application but yet still no LOR or Transcripts. It sucks b/c most schools won't even look at your application until they have everything, for instance Columbia. AADSAS stinks!!!
