Whats up guys, I just have quick question. I want to apply early, but I am finishing up Physics in the summer semester. Is it possible to send in my application in June, and have my physics grades sent in later? Or would it be best to just wait until I have all my grades?

Also, I am taking Biochem the fall after I apply. Some of the schools I want to apply to require that as a pre-requisite. Is there a way to let them know I am taking it, so they dont just throw my application aside cause it isnt on my transcript? Hope that makes sense. Thanks for the help.

I would send in your application early, even if you do not have your physics grade in. When you are filling out the application, you will just list physics as a "planned/in progress" course. This goes for biochem as well. When you are completing your application over the summer, list the courses that you plan on taking in the fall so that the dental schools will see you plan on completing that requirement. Later in the semester there will be an Academic Update period on AADSAS where you can fill in any grades that you recently received. This is when you can fill in those grades and send them to the school.

Awesome, thanks for the advice. So do you think the schools will even look at my application until they get those grades? So I guess what I mean is, will it essentially be the same effect as if I sent the whole application after summer?

Yes, they will still look at your application even if you haven't finished your pre-reqs yet. You just need to have them finished before you graduate. I am graduating in 3 weeks, and I am currently in a pre-req class for the school I am attending (and they accepted me on November 30th).

awesome, thanks!

I'm applying this summer and I'm finishing up OChem this summer and will be taking the second semester of Physics in the Fall. I've e-mailed a couple of schools directly and they've sent me about the same response.

"Most of our students are accepted on a conditional basis, meaning that successful completion of prerequisites which are listed as in-progress or planned on the AADSAS application will be verified by our office prior to matriculation in September 2009." - UCLA

"Additionally, you can send an email to the school to be included in your file that you are finishing your last semester in Physics and will be sending the grade/transcript as soon as it is complete. This way whoever is reviewing your file will be sure to see that." - ASODOH
