Ok, here is the deal. I handed in my application on Monday. Now for us stupid newcomers who just recently handed in our AADSAS application and not before like we were all told, Im assuming that the actual school will not recieve them until November. Assuming they like the applicant, when will they ask for an interview: in NOvember/December? ALso, after the interview, when will us late applicants find out if we are accepted or rejected? Will all this delayed timeline really work against us? In other words, are we very very stupid for not applying in July, and are our chances any worse than the early applicants? Cause I assumed that if I applied in July or August, it wouldnt make a difference cause schools send out acceptances Dec. 1. Did I make an ASS out of myself and will the UMP TION me? Feedback would be appreciated!

Hi avingupta,

Last year I applied to 4 schools in early December (which is insanely late!). I got 2 interviews, and out of that I got 2 waitlists. I recently found out that I got deferred acceptance to Tufts for next year. So instead of starting this year, I'll be starting next year. I'm fairly sure that if I had applied in early July, I would be in Boston right now. However, your chances are diminished slightly, but they are definately not zero. I am a perfect example that late applicants can still be successful in getting into a dental school (even if it is a year late!).

As for when you will start hearing from schools...that really does depend on which school your applying to. And acceptances are only given after Dec 1. You may be wondering why I found out my acceptance so early, thats because I was apart of the last admissions cycle and that Dec 1 agreement did not apply to my application.

Good Luck!
