Are we suppose to send this past fall's official transcript to AADSAS and E-submite the academic update?

Yes. Just read the email/message that AADSAS sent you. It explains everything.

yes and no, it's optional so you really don't have to do it if you've been accepted somewhere, they're going to find out at the end of the year when you send them a final transcript so don't get poor grades

if you haven't been accepted or even interviewed, then i would say that the update is more or less highly highly suggested
