Hi people,

When is a good time to start preparing the aadsas file and also sign up at the slyvan test center, I'm a first timer. thanks 🙄

The online AADSAS application will be released May 15th, however you can look at the current one to get an idea of what is required, since it is doubtful that the form will change much, if at all. AADSAS apps. may be submitted beginning June 1.

Send in your DAT registration info, and they'll send you back a confirmation letter with instructions on how to contact the Sylvan center. Once you have that letter, you can register for the test for one year, so you might as well send in the info when you have a fair idea of what schools you are applying to.

ADA only took 2 weeks to get the confirmation letter for the DAT back to me, but with the busy season coming up, I've heard that it may take up to 6 weeks total, so be prepared for that. Best to mail in the DAT app. early and then secure your preferred testing date.

Complete your AADSAS ass soon as possiable here is a link so you can get ready.

Start doing rough drafts of your personal statement and ask now for letters of recomend. Check this link, also at AADSAS but hidden, for the schools you want to apply and what they need from you. Also on this page is a list of codes that you have to match you coursework to. Get a transcript and start matching.

You may know this but I will say it anyway, the DAT and the AADSAS are two diffrent things. You do not have to wait on your DAT scores to turn in you AADSAS. It is very importaint to apply as early as possiable, if you are retaking the DAT later or if you have not taken it yet still send in your AADSAS app. Then write a seperate letter to each school telling them your intentions to retake the DAT or when you plan on taking it.

Other big pointers:
1. READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS. By all I mean all. Many people miss sending things in because they do not pay attention.

2. Check on your stuff. The schools will NOT tell you if you app is incomplete and they will not review it untill it is. Call and check that they get it and that they have everything they need.

Good luck on the DAT and good luck on the App.
