AAMC 3R Question: Boiling point increases?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Vacuum apparatus lowers the pressure above the liquid, REDUCING the boiling point (there is less pressure above so the molecules do not need as much energy to break free from the liquid) so by having a leak in the vacuum system, the boiling point has to go up because there is an increase in the atmospheric pressure above the liquid, so the molecules need more energy to break free from the liquid... This is why high altitudes need additional time to cook things, water boils at a lower temp

Honestly, could you be anymore inconsiderate by including part of an AAMC answer in the title of this thread?

The OP has 6 posts, you have 19, How about you cut each other some slack for being new ok?

And OP, my dad was a Bio and Chem teacher for 40 years 😉 and teaching is my backup backup plan
