From some reason I cannot find the data for AAMC acceptance rates based on ethnic background.

The reason I am interested is because I have the option of either considering myself "White" or "Other Asian" on my AAMC application, and obviously I would like to choose the option that gives me a greater advantage...

Does anybody know where I can find this data, and have any input?

I don't mean to be intrusive, but how can you choose? If you're both don't you just put both on the application, or is it the one you most identify with? 😕

The average Asian has a higher average for GPA and MCAT than the average white. I highly doubt that this will make any differance at all.

I wonder if asian islanders are a special case...

Hmm...I can't really make any significant conclusions based off that data.

Which would you guys choose? "Other Asian" or "White"?

NickNaylor gave you a response. Asian matriculants tend to have higher GPA and MCAT scores than Whites so which do you think you should choose?
I personally would pick both and just be honest instead of trying to manipulate the system to something that will most likely be ineffective.

Either way I won't be getting the advantage of being a "URM" correct?

There are easier to interpret graphical representations of the race-based AAMC data here: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=888650

She is my rescued feral kitten. If interested, see my Profile Page "Albumn" for more pics of her growing up.

I'm going to assume that you meant album and not albumin.

Just looked, and your kitten has a remarkable tolerance for being dressed up in funny attire. Impressive kitteh.
