for some reason I was having an affirmative action discussion with a colleague and I remember seeing chart A-24 (which organizes race and ethnicity along with acceptance percentage by MCAT+GPA) but now I can't find it online anymore?? Did the AAMC delete the charts? It's data that's still relevant and I'm wondering if they are trying to cover their tracks on this sensitive topic to avoid a lawsuit or something.

I mean, they just posted new data showing the same pattern as ever a few months ago, I don't think they're trying to hide anything:

If you ever want to see older versions of the data broken down into grid format you can just use wayback machine, here's an example from Sept 2015:

well the new ones don't break it down by MCAT and GPA for each ethnicity
it just gives overall averages for each one

Then it would appear that the data isn't publicly available. Any speculation about the reasons for this would be pure conjecture, though, so it's best not to waste time on them in your discussion.

well all that would mean is that it is no longer being released. They used to make that chart but decided to pull it. I feel like this data is more descriptive than providing overall averages because you can physically see outliers or any skewing of data yourself

Most of the URM grids was filled with "no data" or very small n values, despite aggregating across multiple years. They probably just thought it was pointless to give such granular detail. It's not like a URM can't still easily see how their score compares to the average and std.dev for successful applicants in their category

i guess that could be a pretty solid take from this
