AAMC - don't have my letters of recommendation yet

I'm about to submit my primary application but my professors haven't written letters of recommendation. I have their names listed on the application but that's it.

Is that okay? Can they send their letters to AAMC and/or the medical schools afterwards, or is it locked down after the primary is submitted??

Letters are forwarded to schools as AMCAS receives them. They don't have any bearing on the verification process for the primary application, but you won't be able to delete any of the letters you've input after submitting the application. The most you can do is mark a letter as "no longer being sent"
