"HURRICANE UPDATE

Due to the recent hurricanes - Gustav, Hana, and Ike - along the Gulf and East Coasts, several test centers have been closed. Examinees who were scheduled into these sites for September testing will be contacted to reschedule into an October 9 make-up exam. The process of contacting andd scheduling examinees will take several days; we appreciate your continued patience.

If your center was not closed but you were unable to test due to some other hurricane-related reason, please contact the MCAT Resource Center: (202) 828-0690. We will do our best to reschedule your exam as we learn of the remaining availability of reservations for October 9."

Oh god, I feel so bad for the people. Could you imagine being ready to go... only to be told you have to wait another month? I'd flip.

This could be potentially devastating for some applicants--on two levels, property and application status.
Very unfortunate. I hope Medical schools take this into consideration.
I am down in South Florida right now and I there are a lot of people who had been evacuated from the keys who had to come stay at FIU. Undoubtedly, the evacuees were not terribly excited about their mandatory evacuation, but it was for their own safety.
The weather in South Florida is really starting to clear up now with some slightly strong breezes. Other than that, I have already got sunburned and have been walking around in swim trunks, tshirts and sandals everywhere!
My dad is in Louisiana on a business trip right now and even his job got shut down for a couple days. He is now forced to hang out in his hotel and just wait out the weather.

Yeah I was wondering what would happen if schools weren't accepting a later than september mcat. ADCOMs don't seem to be the most accomodating people around.

I'd like to register for october!
