For those of you who have already written the MCAT and used AAMC III to practice, how did your actual score compare to how you did on the practice test? 🙂

Practice test III= 13 V, 9 B, 9 P
Real thing= 11 V, 12 B, 12 P

AAMC III - 11W 11P 9B
MCAT '01 - 11V 11P 10B 😀

I thought that AAMC III was very similar to my MCAT, but you must remember that there are different forms of the MCAT, and you can get harder or easier versions. I also think that your practice scores get closer to your real scores toward the end of your study period. For example, I took AAMC III the saturday before the real MCAT, so I think it matched my real scores due more to the timing than the correlation of difficulty of the two tests.

AAMC III: V11 P12 B12
MCAT '01: V13-15 P11 B13 🙂 😱

AAMC III is still a pretty good predictor. IV is better, I didn't take V. Good luck!!!!

III: V: 9 B: 10 P: 10

Real MCAT V: 11 B: 11 P: 11

IV and V are a little easier and so is the MCAT. Just my opinion though

Keep them coming.. I need some motivation here! I'm taking the AAMC III tomorrow and the AAMC in a week in a half.

Good luck everyone

Thanks for replying everyone 🙂
I'm glad everyone isn't saying it's way too easy. I'm hoping my scores on the real thing are similar to the ones I got on III. How did you guys find your timing was on AAMC III? If you finished with time to spare on the practice test, did you then run out of time when you wrote the real thing?
Thanks 🙂

AAMC III - 11VR, 12PS, 12BS

AAMC IV - 12VR, 12PS, 12BS

MCAT - 13-15VR, 13PS, 13BS

I did about the same on AAMC V, but I can't remember my exact score. I found the AAMC tests to be more predictive of my actual score than the Kaplan tests. I never got over 33 on a Kaplan practice test.

Hope this helps,

Pam

I'm taking AAMC III tomorrow. I'm overly excited after seeing all your fantabulous scores. Watch me get a 12!!! J/K (I hope!!)

I've noticed that on a lot of the scores that have been posted, the bio is the lowest. Is the bio section particularly hard??

Thanks 🙂

I had all kinds of time left when I took AAMC III. After verbal, I had 35 minutes left, and about 25 for both the other sections, and finished at the last minute on the essays. For the real test, I made myself slow down some, and I only had like 10 to 15 minutes left after each section, and the essays were the same, with me finishing about 2-3 minutes before time was called.

Where did you get the practic AAMC tests from?

On my version of the 2001 MCAT, the bio section was quite difficult. Much harder than the physical sciences. There were also two or three really rough VR passages.

On my practice tests, I always had a lot of extra time on BS. Usually no or little extra time on PS. I usually had about 10-15 minutes extra on VR. Of course, my memories are of the Kaplan full-lengths, not AAMC. On the real MCAT, I went right to the buzzer on each section. I think it's because there were distractions (people/proctors going in and out of the room!) and I was tired at the real test. Plus, I was being extra-careful I guess.

Hope this helps.

I bought mine off of ebay. You can buy them from the AAMC, too.

🙂

Ooh - good idea. I should sell my used stuff on ebay! 🙂

AAMC III: 9 11 10
April MCAT: 7 9 10 (don't ask - I have no idea what happened...)

Help! For AAMC III I got a 11 on physical and a high 12 on bio. But... my verbal is like half that (no joke). Help! Three weeks here and the MOST IMPORTANT section I blow at. Any sucess stories from anyone who did well on the verbal on the real thing? Any tips? I have yet to take AAMC V.

AAMC III: 12,10,10
MCAT '01: 10,10,10

III V10, P12, B12
MCAT V11, P13, B13

Ithought they were about equal in difficulty and was surprised at my score on both.

AAMC III: 10,11,10
August 2002: 15,15,15

😉

(I wish...)

I bought mine from AAMC. The online version is $40 bucks. I really like it. You can let the test know which ones you are guessing the answer. After it grades you it will let you know what percentage you guessed on and how many of those you got right. I really liked this feature.

You can access the test immediatly after you set up your password. Well worth $40.
Good luck 😛

AAMC III 11V 12P 12B

April 2001: 10V 13B 13P

I just finished AAMC III and in my opinion, verbal was much easier than IV and V.

AAMC IV V7 PS12 BS12
AAMC V V6 PS12 BS12
AAMC III V10 PS11 BS10 (I thought bio was hard)
