Great that anesthesiology and pain medicine getting featured but wait, he attended college in the US but dropped out to attend an overseas medical school. The AAMC stands for Association of American Medical Colleges. What is going on here?

I read the article. No where does the AAMC say that they are promoting foreign medical schools. They interviewed a pain doc that happened to study abroad because he did not think he could get into a US medical school without spending a lot of extra years trying to boost his application. It seems like an educated decision that he made after evaluating his own personal situation, something that we all do. He said himself that it is a much harder route if you graduate from a foreign medical school, which sounds to me like the opposite of promoting foreign medical schools. I’m not sure what the point of your post is.
