I just took my first Mcat practice test on the aamc website. It is test 3. I have been using exam krackers study guide and just finished the fourth week of the study plan. After taking the practice mcat I feel a little depressed because I scored a 17. Is this test harder than the real mcat because although I am not even halfway through the material yet a 17 seems very low. Should I pospone my mcat test date which is in 2 and a half months. I don't know what to do, this practice test really demoralized me. Advise on what I should do would be very appreciated.

Thank you.

1) Practice Test 3 is much easier than the real MCAT.
2) No, don't be worried. I'm not sure why you took a test 2.5 months before your test date, but since you're not done with content, a 17 was expected.
3) Chill

Don't take any AAMC practice exams before you finish your content review. They are almost useless if taken before you're finished with content.

I was following the exam krackers scheduale and it states to take a practice test after your fourth week I believe. It also said to take the practice test 3 before starting content review to see where you are but I didnt do that I took it four weeks in.

Exam 3 is a little old but still a valuable resource to your MCAT preparation. Don't be alarmed by the low score. Factors such as fatigue, stress/panic, and most importantly: no strategy make a significant difference.

What I suggest is that you go over the exam VERY well and see why you got questions wrong.

I got a 34 on AAMC 3 (12ps, 10v, 12bs) and ended up with a 30Q on my actual MCAT (12ps, 8v, 10bs). AAMC 3 and all the other AAMCs are only representative for physical science and verbal. The biological sciences on AAMCs are a lot easier than the one on my actual MCAT.

AAMC 3 is not only easier than the MCAT, it is easier than the other practice tests.

... but AAMC 3 verbal is easily harder than the other practice test verbals.

Osprey, how much harder is the actual MCAT (bio section) compared to AAMC 11? 11 was hard, but alot more interesting than AAMC 3, that helped me keep focused. Hoping the real MCAT is similar!

Well my BS was very hard (9/1 MCAT). It had 5 experimental bio passages + 1 orgo passage + 1 easy bio passage. Those 5 experimental bio passages were about the same difficulty of that Ebola passage in AAMC 11.

AAMC 3 might be easier but I would say your score is still indicative of whay you would get on test day

Thanks for all the respones, I have decided not to take anymore aamc tests until I finish all the content review thouroughly.
