In the explanation, it says that Imax = Io * 10^8. How does 80 dB translate into that? Is there some generic formula that we are supposed to know for intensity? The relevant equation to use is dB = 10 * log10(Intensity / Io) where Io = 1*10^-12. If you plug 80dB and 30dB into that equation, solve for each corresponding Intensity, the ratio will be 10^5.
