I really have no clue what pi/2 is supposed to mean. I know it equals somewhere around 1.50 but that doesn't answer anything.
The answer explanation is: The angle theta shown in Figure 1 is zero when centrifuge is at rest. When the centrifuge is rotating at high angular velocity the angle increases, at most to 90 degrees. The angular constraints are 0<theta< pi/2 ....
