AAMC questions in the sciences seem much easier and more clearly worded for the most part, and the VR also seems more clear cut. However, the scoring scales are really strict on these things. The PS section especially requires a completely different tactic than the Kaplan PS sections. With Kaplan, you have to rush through to finish and make sure you answer all the questions and you can miss about 10 or 15 and still get a 13. On the AAMC stuff, it seems much easier to finish them all, but you have to get them all right. On 4r, if you miss 2 questions you are already into the 13's, whereas on Kaplan you can miss like 5 and still have a 15.

I took AAMC 3r-6r in preparation for the last MCAT, I was scoring 6-8 in PS on those and got a 7 on the real thing last Aug, which is why I'm retaking this Aug. I have seen some improvement in PS, but I'm worried that maybe it's artificial improvement generated by their scaling. I plan to take an EK test today and AAMC 7 next week before the real thing, but does anyone have experience with this? Are Kaplan PS scores reflective of how you'll really do, or not?
