Does anyone know what roles pharmacists can have at this company, specifically, or in the pharmaceutical industry generally? Particularly for a fresh graduate pharmacist with only retail experience and a few LORs from rotations and faculty? Thank you for your support. The more we can help each other on this site, the better to transfer it to others.

Did you do an internship or any of your P4 rotations in industry? If not, chances of landing an industry job straight out of school are slim at best. Even with that, more advanced training or some serious connections are usually needed.

It's a pretty difficult field to get into from what I've heard. As above poster said, you need to have done an internship, need connections, or a fellowship seems to be the most common way to get in. I think pharmacists who go through fellowships usually get the drug safety, info, marketing, MSL, jobs that are more coveted. Never heard of anyone just walking into industry, might be possible but highly unlikely.

Had one experience where I was looking up a drug info question and called up a drug company. The person responding was actually a Pharm.D, which sort of surprised me. My impression was that that position was on the lower end of the industry ladder but Pharm.Ds I guess can do those customer service/question calls. Might be your only way in.

Resume is nice but as always, connections are the best
