Question: Is there any advantage or benefit for becoming board certified for electrodiagnstic medicine with ABEM? I do EMGs a fair amount in my sports practice. Other than more letters and bragging rights, has anyone found a helpful reason to take the test? Same goes for becoming a certified EMG lab. Seems like 1000 dollars for something that most referring physicians and all patients will have no clue about. Private Practice with some loose affiliations to academics. Thanks.

I let my Emg boards lapse this last December. Maybe some hospital Emg lab somewhere might care but they are probably only hiring neurologists anyway.
Chiros do emgs in neurosurgeons offices locally. Doesn’t pay enough to fight over anymore.
