So I am a NHSP student so I have to go into primary care, and I most likely will do FP. I'm ok with this choice, however, I secretly really wish I could do PM&R now that I know more about this field. I know this is a completely hypothetical question but I could help being curious. After FP residency and practicing for atleast 4 years, maybe more. Could I go back and apply for an advanced PGY-2 spot in PM&R?

You can try, but the programs might not get paid to educate you. Have to see was the Prez does to us over the next few years.

All you can be told is, "No."

I went to med school at 42.

I started training in emergency medicine, and almost half-way through my residency, I figured out that I chose the wrong route and should have followed my first inclination.

See my post in this Forum "PM&R Refugee from EM" for how it turned out.
