Forgive me I'm a noobie, but does AMCAS check only the first 3 years GPA when applying accordingly to the 3 year premed track or all 4? Sorry 🙁

AMCAS will require you to submit all transcripts from all post-high school institutions attended. If you apply at the end of junior year, then the AMCAS transcript sent out to med schools will be based on the first three years only (unless you acquired some credits during the HS years from a local community college, then that would be included as well). If you apply after senior year or after grad school is complete, then those additional years of coursework will be included as well.

given that my first semester gpa was a 2.5 🙁

Should I apply after junior year or senior year in order to compensate for my less than stellar gpa. Should I take more credits and attempt to ace them so I can slowly cancel my bad semester out?

If you are a freshman with only one semester of grades so far, then you have plenty of time to repair your GPA. With a year of straight As, you could be at a 3.5 cGPA. If your GPA takes time to rise as you adjust to college requirements, then you might eventually consider summer school, applying after senior year, or even after a fifth year if needbe.

What you should not do is take a heavy credit load, at least until you have figured out new study strategies and how to get great grades.
