As far as biology goes, should I be takign General Biology??
On ym school's pre-med listing it has me taking Zoology and Botany(111 and 112) instead of General (101 and 102)??

Are you a biology major?

a lot of times, schools offer zoology and botany as the starter courses for biology majors and/or pre-med people. General Bio courses are often for non-majors or people who are just trying to fulfill some sort of life science/lab science general requirement.

you can double check with your college registrar, but it sounds pretty normal to me. that's how it works at my school at least.

i dunno... in my school even if you're a bio major, you have to take gen bio (moreover if you're premed...)

check with the registrar/ advisor

I'm in engineering, so I'm not sure which one to take 🙁 The general bio does say it's not for biology majors so ....

Well, you are wasting a lot of time if you spend a semester learning about ****ing plants.

Wow, that's weird - there's no intro. to biology for majors? If the non-major class is a two-semester class, then that's probably the one you want to take. There is botany and zoology in intro bio usually, but definitely not a whole semester's worth. Make sure you take a class that covers cells, basic molecular biology, and basic human physiology (organ systems, etc.) because this is what the MCAT thinks you should get out of bio.
