I am pre med and have about two more years before I complete undergrad. I work for a group of optometrists as a technician, which is like an M.D. having an MA, so to speak. I wonder if having "medical" experience working under an O.D. will be to the satisfaction to an interviewing board of M.D.s?

I don't think it really counts. The interviewer can just turn around and ask you then "why medicine, instead of OD?" and you'd be hard pressed to find a legitimate answer if you haven't shadowed a doctor / volunteered ambulance hours / etc.

I think the experience would be looked on as patient exposure, and I'd certainly list it, but it would not be sufficient by itself. You also need face-to-face experience with sick people in a clinic, hospital, nursing home, or other place where physicians see patients and are part of the care team.
