i sent emails to the howard admission asking them about my chances, but they didn't reply. i want to ask you guys if anyone here knows. i am an international student, but i got my diploma from a US high school and i am getting a bachelor degree from university of michigan. am i considered a minority?? i am considered an international student from israel.

You know the best whether you are international student or not. “Which country citizenship are you currently holding?” If you are a permanent resident (green card holder), you are not an international student though you were not born in this country. I don't think Israelis/Jews are considered as minority in the US. My understanding of minorities generally applies to Hispanic descent, African American descent or native American descent. They are considered as minorities in the sense that not too many of them are in science field compare to other ethnicity. I hope this information helps!
 
I think that her point is the folowing: since Howard is a historically Black institution and ergo majority Black in its student body, if I apply there and will I be considered a "minority" applicant because of the demographic of Howard's student body or am I looked at differently i.e. as an international student solely and Cauacasoid primarily?

Is that the thought process?
 
issa-about a 1% chance of getting in-look at the data. and i think that you know that answer already.
 
There are more than a few international students at Howard so I don't see why being one would affect your chances.
