what do you think about some current issues in physical therapy?

the only issue that i can think of is the pt's having relations with their patients

how about:

1 direct access to PT

2 medicare payments

3 POPTS

4 incident-to billing by ATCs

5 chiropractor competition

6 use/overuse of PTAs

7 practicality of DPT vs increased debt load and minimal increase in salary

Exactly! Thanks Thruthseeker

I don't want to seem rude and I'm wondering if there may be a language barrier.

I think you're looking for advice on how to answer those questions. Those questions you listed are not "PT specific". That is, you could hear those exact questions during an interview for any job/school program etc. So from general life experience, you should already have a few ideas in mind.

I've seen those questions you've listed hundreds of times. The first time I was going to an interview, I decided to read as much as possible about PT and health care. For instance, google "american physical therapy association" - start there. You can then google "physical therapy" and read the wikipedia description, go to the websites of different PT schools, even google "state of health care". With "obamacare" and everything that has been going on in the news, I don't believe that you haven't read or watched an interview or newscast regarding the state of the US health care system today.

Again, don't take this harshly. I just don't like to see people who aren't making an effort.

If you want some solid advice from me, just reply again with your current answers to your questions. Tell me what you have so far. I can tell you if you are on the right track or help edit your responses.

If you are thinking of entering this field you need to realize that you need to take charge and show an effort. There will be lots of students interviewing who have read newspapers/websites and have sufficient volunteer experiences to answer those questions.

Good luck!

PS (It's "views" not "fews".)

look, nothing personal. rough day.
I've just been on these forums long enough to see them abused by people who just come on here to "steal" answers/essays.

I really do suggest though, to look at all available resources on the web. Looking at the APTA website/college websites and maybe even a physical therapy journal will be very helpful. You will see what the latest trends are!

wow, that's really rude. I do agree with the sentiment though. However helpful and supportive this forum (usually) is...unfortunately DPT admission is a competition, and no one is going to "give out" the ideas that they've thought up for possible interview questions so that anyone in the world can just look on here and pick them up.

Besides, when you go to your interview, they will most likely ask you some questions that you haven't thought of before. You can't possibly prepare for every question they'll ask, because you don't know exactly what you'll be asked. It's great to prepare for the typical/common questions, but you'll also need to be able to think on your feet and improvise. Do yourself a favour; start thinking on your own and training your mind now. It will help you to think on your own a lot faster when you get an unexpected question in the interview.

Best of luck. 🙂
