There are a couple ways to do this problem. Here's how I did it:

2/3 of the 180 like classical - that's 120 people.
1/3 of the REMAINING people like jazz. Since 120 like classical, the remaining people are 180-120 = 60.
1/3 of 60 is 20...so 20 people like Jazz.
This leaves 180-120-20 = 40 people who don't like either.

So there are 180 people. 2/3 of 180 is 120, leaving 60 people who chose neither classical nor jazz. 1/3 of 60 is 20 which is the number of people who chose jazz. That leaves 40 people who didn't choose either. Hope that helps! 🙂

I READ THE PROBLEM WRONG :bang:
"How many of the people surveyed chose either classical music or Jazz?"

I couldn't come up with 40 (always got 140)....got pissed and left
