Hi!!

I just received my Step 1 score and I got a 207... I was wondering how competitive is that for the Miami/jackson program( I really want to go there!!!) and if that score will give me an interview opportunity. Im a US accredited school applicant...

Also.... How competitive is PM&R in Miami/Jackson (in general)

All comments and suggestions from residents and med students are appreciated! Thank YOU!

It's the whole package that lands the interview, not a single item like your score. Now if your score really sucks it can keep you out. But 207 doesn't suck, so don't worry about it.

If you have perceived or actual weaknesses in one area of your application, make sure you have strengths in other areas.

Jackson Memorial Hospital is bankrupt and the county is struggling for answers and negotiating with unions and staff to decrease costs. You might want to ask about how that affects the program if at all, and then do your due diligence in finding unbiased answers. The UM did break away somewhat from the county hospital(Jackson Memorial), but professors still took pay cuts....possibly more than one cut.

Efrainpb I also got a low score and I am planning to apply to Miami/Jackson PM&R since I will be doing some research on the campus, how did it go for you??
Any advice for a fellow low score player??
