It was really great, there was 11 (or 12) of us. There is NO REAL INTERVIEW, they put you in front of the camera and you speak for 3-5 minutes as to what makes you a unique applicant. Don't worry, you'll be alone when you do this, no one will hear what you have to say hahaha. Oh and writing sample, I had to think for about 5-10 minutes before I wrote a single sentence because, I thought it was an easy essay, but you just have to find the right topic. Don't worry, they give you all the time in the world to get it done (as long as you don't write for 2-3 hours that is).

The 2 guys who were conducting the whole show (Jeremy and Brian) were really friendly, and on most times, goofy as hell. They are remodeling the whole clinic, it will look like a hotel once they are done and they are saying that by time we enter our 3rd years, this will all be done.

Overall, I went in there liking temple and left the day loving temple.... Yes their tuition is high for OOS like me, but their education seems top notch.

Oh and as far as the "interview" goes, like I said, there was no real interview, they put us in a room where we each introduced our selves, gave a little background info about our selves, and told them our hobbies. Then Brian would ask you a personal question... for example, I told them I was non-traditional coming in from the I.T industry, and he asked me "why dentistry", for others it was different questions (depending on what you say when you introduced your self)..... This all happens in a group, but its super friendly, so DON'T stress out.

I used orbitz, I got me a 2-way flight + 1 night at aloft hotel for.... I think it was like $290, which I thought was a great deal. There is a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Then I took a taxi from the hotel to the school (cost you $30-45, depending on traffic) and..... $40-50 from the school to airport. For me, the whole trip, including taxi and food cost me about.... $400

anyways, feel free to PM me if you have any questions, and... NO I can not tell you what the topic of the writing sample was... sorry 🙁

Thanks for sharing that dentalWorks! I don't think I could handle answering that question in front of a camera with no-one else in the room to give feedback or make it like a conversation. But I do see how it is a good idea because that way the entire committee gets to see you and hear what you have to say and its not based on the opinion of one/few interviewers.

I hope you did well! Good luck with future interviews and acceptances!

Hey thanks man a butt load for sharing!! This will deffinitely help prepare me for the interview coming up the 27th.

Good luck with everything

I have an interview there coming up, and i'm so excited! Temple already seems great, and i am sure that I am going to love it. I also love the way you described the interview process. I'm not a fan of the speed dating format where you just get drilled with ethics questions for 100 minutes.

They must have your personal statement...what is this new essay about?

🙄 How'd you do in the RC of DAT!?

I'm just messing around with you! Don't worry about it. Temple will be your least stressful interview. I guarantee it! Good luck 🙂

See you tomorrow! Some advice... Don't pick your nose during the videotaped session! 😱

thanks for the post dentalworks!
At first I must say I applied to Temple out of shiz and gigs, but after reading more about it, I think it's actually an awesome school!

I have an interview there on Nov 11, and it's my first interview with any dschool so far, so I'm pretty stressed out.
Considering how everybody says don't stress out, I still happen to stress out since I find lady luck to hardly ever be on my side...

and simiam: i never pick my nose, instead i scratch my butt when it itches
