I'm scheduled to take my Step 2 CS on May 11, 2007 and would like to ask how long it usually takes before the results come out. Does it take around 4-6 weeks? I'm planning to take Step 3 right after I get the results of Step 2CS so I was wondering when would be the earliest estimated date I can take Step 3 considering the time it takes to be ECFMG certified and getting the test permit. Would mid June 2007 be a good estimate? Thanks!

I think it took 6-8 weeks for my Step 2 CS results to come back, but I took it right when the test first came out - may be faster now.

However, the application process for taking Step 3 is painful - I had all my paperwork in order, and it still took around 6 weeks before I received my permit. So realistically, you may not be able to take Step 3 until August or September.

If I want to take the test in May, when do I need to apply? I guess the earliest month for me to submit an application would be jan (if it takes about 6 weeks to get your permit, and then you have a 3 month window)?
