Can someone tell me if there are a lot of questions about the different subspecialties on the shelf? I'm trying to plan my studying and I don't want to waste a ton of time reading lawrence's subspecialties if I don't have to. Thanks!

There's reasonable amount of subspecialty stuff on the shelf. Mostly cardiothoracic. It's always tough giving advice on what stuff to study for the shelf because you always remember the questions that you didn't know. For example, I remember about 8-9 questions on clotting disorders but I probably only remember this because I hadn't studied these since 2nd year and was not ready for them.

I had few ortho questions about repairs and 1 neurosurg question. Boards and Wards was pretty helpful for these questions, or Surg Recall might help if you have time to go through these sections. Good luck.

Thanks! I have both boards and wards and surgical recall. I'll read those. 🙂

Read BRS surgical specialties. I read it and did not miss a single question on subspecialties. It's 😉 a short book, too.
