hey guys!i know i might sound like a lazy bum!but i wondering do you think that i could send a common personal statement to the neuro and prelim IM programs with some minor changes.do you think the programs might share info?i know it sounds stupid, but i was judt wondering!any advice??

Only masochists write two separate statements. Your instincts are good. Write a statement for neuro, then superficially modify it for medicine.

I believe the ERAS application has a slightly smaller word limit for personal statements than the CAS form. In my case, I truncated some of my "why I'd love to be a neurologist" anecdotes, and replaced them with a brief closing paragraph of what I hoped to gain (and contribute) during a medicine internship. It was basically 15 mins of editing my Neuro PS. In speaking with other Prelim-Year types (Ophth, Anes, Rads, etc), few or no changes to their PGY-2 PS was the norm.

hey guys!thanks for that.phew!!cant go through writing another one 🙂 !!
