It's Trigonometry (pre-req for Gen. Physics later) and one physical education (for obtaining AA degree).

They are not a pre-req for med-school.
However, I've accumulated 4W's and 2NP's in my first year; this is why I'm a bit hesitant to file P/NP for two courses this semester. My transcript currently screams out 'I'm protecting my GPA!'
Would filing P/NP for these 2 courses raise some eyebrows at this current situation?

(Also: I'm taking Calculus, Gen. Chem 2, Trigonometry , PE, Sociology, and Engineering. If this would help.)

Thank you very much!

What's the point of doing this? Is it because you have a bad grade? If the grade isn't salvageable and you can't withdraw without penalty by now, then this is really your only choice. But it's only February, work harder and get a B.

Edited to add: Why are you taking trig and calc at the same time? Calc is not a prereq for med school or physics, so drop that class to protect your GPA.

Haha, I don't have any bad grades in them; my Sp. semester just started this week.
I just feel that both courses aren't important and I just would like to receive credit for it.

Also, Calc is for a major requirement. I just need a semester for it 🙂

I'm still confused why you need Trig if you can take Calc - doesn't your school waive prereqs in cases like this? Like if you have competency in trig enough that you're in calc, you shouldn't also need trig for physics. That seems really odd to me.

Oh! I see the confusion. Yep.
It's a Calculus class without Trigonometry. It's called 'Calculus for Business and Social Science majors.'
The name was too long that I didn't bother to add that in 😛
This course is special in that it doesn't require Trig or Pre-Calc. That is why I was able to pass by Trig to enroll in the course.
So, next fall semester, I will take Gen Physics without Calculus.

Ah, gotcha.

As far as the P/NP, in my opinion I think you should take it for a grade if you already have some NP's on your transcript. I say this with the assumption that you're at a community college if you're getting your AA and I think it would look like a little "too easy" to take a bunch of P/NP classes at a community college. Show med schools that you can work hard and get good grades.

(And don't worry too much about GPA protection. I'm not saying get a bunch of C's but you can have a B in one or two classes and the world won't end.)

Alright!
I'll go for a letter grade in those two courses!!

Thank you very much, I'm just gonna go for it and rock those two!!! 😀
