hi everybody

i want to find out wheather an international dentist with batchleor degree
in there home country can practice as dental assistant or just observer .
do we need insurance also .

actually alot of us are confused about wat we can be obser. or DA .
but hav read in many post that people r working as dental assistant .

is it so that the thing totally depends soully upon the discrertion of the dentist.

plz help ... i m california
so plz do mention the state as rules may differ from state to state .

I think you can work as Dental assistant but your visa status should allow you to work in US.

As a foreign graduate, I believe you can work as dental assistant, you are qualified and don't need a license for DA, but for CA, if your DA assistant work including Dental X-ray operator, you need to get X-ray licensure.

The main problem as what drdentist123 said, your visa status.

hey, i m in cal too...m on h4 visa...have scored 84 on part 1, 87 on part2 n 273 in toefl...nowi want some work exp. to make my application strong...please advise...should i retake part1?

this is wat i found

for dental assistant in california one should get a X ray certification but for that u ned to be working somewhere at dentist place bz they want 2 x ray at ur work placxe and 4 patient and x ray film too.
the course in total costs 700 approx .
and this is mainly for CALI
DANB is not for california but for many states , to allow for workin as DA
