I just took my MOC exam today. What a waste of time and money (a lot).

The exam was ridiculous. Questions were either stupidly easy, or designed to trick. Out of 160 questions, I counted 10 that actually had real clinical relevance. I was furious when I finished.

Oh, and the exam has a 97.5-98.5% pass rate. Why bother giving an exam that is so easy? That means that either the exam does not test competancy (*the right answer) or that 98% of physiatrists are "worthy" of board certification (anyone who has been in practice a while knows that is not the case)

Ok rant over.

ridiculous? Is "rabbit syndrome" ridiculous?

Agreed, but I was still glad I studied. The online SAE's were helpful.

I had mine last year. They need to move it away from the day after the superbowl...

It fulfills the need to make regulators and board members feel better about themselves, all while they laugh at us since they "grandfathered" themselves into not taking it.

MOC exam was the least of the PITA factor. All the newer things you have to do - PIP, SAE's, etc. None of that was present when I finished residency.
