How do you all think the ABSITE scores correlate with your USMLE I or II score? You would think that the person with an average USMLE score (215) would score a little less than average when compared to the nation's surgical intern class. Any thoughts? Is Step II a better indicator than Step I?

Studies show step 2 correlates more with ABSITE...

It's all about your test taking skills.. at this point of the game, your knowledge is not what's giving you the higher scores.

The funny part is that ABSITE does not correlate with your operative or technical skills. But it does correlate with whether or not you will pass the surgical boards.

You might know how to operate but you might not pass the surgery boards if your test taking skills are bad.
