I know must of us still have certain schools leaving us on edge, but I am curious as to how many of us are definitely sure that they will attend a certain school. So, who are you? What school? Reasons? and anything else you'd like to add.

The hotter the battle the sweeter the victor.

😀 University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio 😀
I decided that I don't want to do research or academic medicine, so where I go to school doesn't matter that much. I know I want to live in TX after med school & residency, and UTHSCSA has a great reputation within the state (hopefully elsewhere too). The tuition for all 4 years (4*6500=26000) is about what 1 year at most private schools costs, and housing is inexpensive too. San Antonio is a great city, the students are friendly, and everyone seems to enjoy it there. I can accomplish all my career goals, save money, and have a (relatively) fun time doing it. What more do you want? (besides prestige, which I could give 2 sh*ts about)

•This thread died pretty quickly. Guess I'm the only one who's dead set on one school.•••••I'm also dead set, and for basically the same reasons you posted. I'm headed to Kentucky, but unfortunately my tuition will be ~4000 a year higher than yours. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

I am seriously set on Johns Hopkins but I can't put all my eggs in one basket. I might go Early Decision, but if it doesn't work...then I will burst forth into a supernova of fury, flooding in the magma of my apocalyptic wrath.

University of Michigan. From California (UCLA undergrad). I want to be in a college town for the next four years of my life.... that is what I love... and Ann Arbor is the best college town I have ever been to. I thought the people there were awesome. And their training is excellent.

Cornell!!! Damn, I want to go there so bad that I can taste it. I have 3 acceptances so far but I am waiting to hear from Cornell. If they accept me, that is it. I am going there. I guess I should send some letter to them telling them how much I liked it and how much I want to go. I will do that soon.

10k a year is still a steal compared to high 20s or 30+/year•••••Very true. 🙂
