If you submit an abstract to ASCO or ASTRO, they have copyrights over the abstract. Is it then illegal to use that submitted abstract (slightly modified or condensed) as the abstract for your subsequent manuscript?

As someone who has done that, I certainly hope not.

OK....just making sure. For ASCO, they have a special box you have to check saying you understand that they have fully copyright over the abstract if accepted. If I get in trouble, I'll reference SDN...

Uh oh!
