Hi all,

I need to submit an academic change request because my verified course classifications were a little different than what I was expecting.

I've read the manual and have done a search, but has anyone had experience with this process that they would like to share?

Did they not give you BCPM credit? That is the only thing I would have challenged...

Moreover, what was the impact on your GPA? Given your stats, it couldn't have been material...

I would be very concerned about this becoming a "back and forth" thing that will drag out for a month or so...be careful...

my stats?? i have a 3.8 and 3.6 science gpa. they classified some of my courses as "AO" but should have been "SCI" so i just need some advice.

I don't have mine in front of me, but by SCI do you mean BCPM? I would only be concerned about classes taken out of BCPM that would have boosted the BCPM GPA...i.e., I would only file a challenge if they somehow mischaracterized a pre-req, or if they mischaracterized another BCPM class that would have elevated that 3.6...if it is a BCPM class that is less than an A- (say a B+) it would only hurt your BCPM GPA, thus they actually did you a favor.

yea i get what you're saying, but it is 1 class i took, biology through art, that is taught by the biology department, listed under the BIOL heading, and i got an A. so this would boost my BCMP (SCI) gpa probably to 3.63, small but still something is better than nothing.

Just because it has a BIOL heading doesn't make it BCPM; the course content is what determines BCPM, and the AMCAS reader, without evidence to the contrary, is assuming that this is not really a science class...honestly, that sounds pretty sketchy to me...they would probably require the official course description from your course catalog...

At least it is early in the cycle, so how badly could it delay your app? Probably not at all...I say go for it, but why don't you post the course description here...

Wait ksmi what happened to your 4.0 GPA for cum and BCPM? And why are you banned on some threads and not banned on others. Maybe someone else took your name?
